Every immigration programme has its own set of regulations, and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is no different. Although it may seem straightforward, the CEC has several drawbacks. According to the job classification (NOC) to which your job corresponds, you must have worked in a qualified job (NOC 0, A, or B) in Canada for at least one (01) year in order to qualify under the CEC. Additionally, you must have a level of English or French that ranges from 5 to 7 in the Canadian standard.

Nonetheless, the terms of each type of permit, more so than the work he conducts, do have a direct bearing on the CEC and may prevent the individual from being granted permanent residency.

 

Those who entered Canada with a work permit obtained through an LMIA must show, when applying for residency, that they worked for the employer who brought them, that they were paid the salary reported in the LMIA, that they put in the required number of hours per week, that they carried out the duties outlined in the LMIA, and that they were located at the location specified in the LMIA.
